Raised in a small, cramped house alongside two siblings, Ts. Bexter Lim early life in a predominantly Muslim community was a testament to endurance and perseverance.

As a minority Chinese in this setting, he faced unique challenges but was also steeped in a rich cultural melting pot. His linguistic journey began with Bahasa Malaysia, the language of his community, while English was the language of communication within his household. It was during his teenage years that Ts. Bexter discovered a fascination with computing and programming, particularly C programming. This curiosity-driven skill would later become a cornerstone of his professional life.

The financial struggles of the Lim household, similar to many ethnic minority families, were significant. Having completed his secondary education at the tender age of 17, Ts. Bexter was determined to advance his studies in Computer Studies. With a modest sum of RM5k from his grandmother and his mother’s monthly contributions, he was acutely aware of the financial strain on his family. Not wanting to add to his mother's burdens,

Ts. Bexter, still a teenager, embarked on a journey of adult responsibilities. He took on various jobs, ranging from a sales assistant in an optical shop to a technician in a general hospital in Kuching. His time at the hospital was particularly demanding and hazardous, yet it was essential for supporting his education and livelihood. The meager income he earned, just barely a thousand ringgit for every month of labor, was a stark reminder of the difficulties he faced in his early years.

Ts. Bexter's relocation to Kuala Lumpur marked a pivotal shift in his life. In 2014, he landed his inaugural IT role as an IT Support Executive with Frontwave Consulting Pte Ltd, a significant leap from the non-IT, low-paying positions he held in Kuching. However, the new job brought its own set of challenges. His tenure in Kuala Lumpur was characterized by relentless hard work and notable progress, culminating in a promotion to IT Support Manager within a year. This period was instrumental in shaping his resilient and driven character.

In Kuala Lumpur, Ts. Bexter's journey was far from ordinary. He not only worked to sustain himself but also continued to enhance his knowledge and skills. He delved into the realms of cybersecurity and software development, fields that would eventually lead him to the zenith of his career. During this time, he also accomplished the remarkable feat of completing a degree in Information Technology from Open University Malaysia with an impressive CGPA of 3.64.

In recognition of his expertise and contributions to the field, Ts. Bexter was admitted as a professional technologists and became a member of the Malaysia Board of Technologists, or MBOT. This prestigious acknowledgment allowed him to use the title "Ts" before his name, a mark of his professional status and technical proficiency.

Ts. Bexter's decision to study information technology was met with skepticism and mockery from some relatives, who believed he should pursue more traditional fields like accounting, medicine, or engineering. His move to Kuala Lumpur was also discouraged, with warnings that he would not survive the challenges of the city. However, Ts. Bexter remained firm in his choices. At the age of 32, he quietly returned to studies, proving wrong those who believed he was too old for education. His success in academia and his rapid professional ascent, from technician to Chief Digital Officer in less than 9 years, were a testament to his dedication and ability to defy expectations.

Additionally, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience, Ts. Bexter started his own freelance practice, focusing on assisting businesses in embracing digitalisation in a cost-effective manner. His approach ensured that businesses could integrate modern digital technologies without incurring excessive expenses.

Throughout this journey, the unwavering support of his then-girlfriend and now wife Ms. Kitty, his late grandmother, late grandfather, mother, late Grandauntie Alice, and grandauntie Annie was invaluable. While others doubted and mocked his choices, these key figures in his life provided steadfast encouragement and belief in his potential. Ms. Kitty's emotional support, his grandmother and mother's financial assistance, and the wisdom and encouragement from his grandfather, late Grandauntie Alice, and grandauntie Annie were crucial. Their collective support helped him navigate the skepticism and negativity, reinforcing his resolve and aiding his eventual success.

Moreover, Ts. Bexter attributed a significant part of his success to answered prayers and blessings from God. His faith was a source of strength and inspiration, especially in moments of doubt and difficulty. He believed that the answered prayers and divine support were pivotal in guiding him through the challenges and milestones of his life. This spiritual perspective added another layer of resilience, enabling him to face setbacks with a sense of purpose and hope.
